Hello! Remember me? I know it’s been awhile.
Here. Let me give you some hints. I’m a reluctant breadwinner…closet romantic comedy writer…snarky mother to five boys.
Any of this ringing a bell…?
No? Uh, let’s see.
I’m also the Plate Spinner (i.e., crazed working parent who laughs in the face of chaos and can leap over tall piles of laundry in a single bound). I’ve also written a couple of books.
Ah, OK, that sounds familiar? Well good, because I’m very delinquent in announcing that FALSE START, the first book in my Assignment: Romance series, is now available on audio!
What a thrill it was to have a professional voice actress bring the story I had written to life! (And I’d be lying if I said having said NYC-based voice actress call me while I was at work to verify the Midwest pronunciation of certain words didn’t make me feel très important.)
When my publisher sent me the proofs, I carried around my laptop all day as I went through my usual Saturday cleaning routine, shushing anyone who had the audacity to interrupt her vocal stylings. Having never listened to an audio recording of a romantic comedy before, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but seriously, it was like the coolest thing ever (she gushed like a teenager).
I hope, if you get the chance, you’ll give it a listen. It would be the perfect thing to get you in the mood for drafting New Year’s resolutions, especially if your goals are fitness oriented.
As I lounge around in the post-Christmas/pre-New Year’s lull, wearing jeans that were actually a little loose before I started inhaling my mother’s seasonal date nut bread a few weeks back, I know mine s-h-o-u-l-d be.
The yet unspoiled 2017 beckons like an uncut cheesecake, challenging me to get it in gear (but only because my sister gifted me with a new running jacket and some compression tights).
As I mull my new resolutions, questions pop up like so many frozen breakfast treats from my toaster.
What do I want to accomplish?
Which books will I complete?
Which races will I run?
What should I do differently?
Where do I want to be same time next year?
Whichever resolutions I list, there’s no denying, I’m excited at the thought of yet another a Fresh Start (see what I did there?).
Happy New Years, y’all!
